Chinese robotics company shows off a Westworld-style robot face

April 14, 2026

A video of a Chinese company showing the face of a human-like robot is circulating online. It gives a major Westworld vibrations.

AheadForm is a Chinese robotics company founded in 2024 that works on combining realistic humanoid robots with artificial intelligence to interact with humans.

“With expressive facial features, moving eyes and synchronized speech, the robot can convey emotions and understand human non-verbal cues, making interactions more natural and engaging,” according to AheadForm’s website.

The looping video only shows part of the robot’s face and shows the robot blinking, moving its eyes and making human-like facial expressions.

According to AheadForm, the video facial robot, called the AheadForm Origin M1, “integrates a complete facial actuation system with up to 25 micro-motors” to achieve realistic and human-looking gestures.

AheadForm’s website features humanoid robots as part of the company’s Lan Series, as well as an Elf character called ELF V1.

“Within ten years, we can interact with robots and feel that they are almost human, maybe in 20 years they can walk normally and perform some tasks just like a human,” AheadForm founder Hu Yuhan said last year. South China Morning Post.
